Our company was founded in 1964 in Pireaus by Dimitrios Marmarinos, in the form of a foundry equipped at the time with the most modern presses for lead melting and processing.

The object of our activities is the production of the following products:

COVERING ROOFS WITH LEAD SHEETS - THE IDEAL MATERIAL THROUGH WHICH SOUND AND RADIATION DO NOT PASS

 

Given that different metals should not be in contact and that the connection of sheets must allow for their contraction and expansion, covering roofs with flat lead sheets must be done with folding or with the help of wooden shims. The shims are used for connections perpendicular to the runoff, while folding is used for connections parallel to the runoff. 

All connections must be straight. Installation of the sheets stars by fixing the fontal sheets on the runoff line, as well as on the frontispiece and leading to the crest.

The sheets are supported onto the existing contsruction (concrete or simple masonry) either stuck-on or with wall plugs and screws.

Illustrative examples include church cupolas, which are perfectly covered by the lead sheets, and insulated from humidity, lightning, etc. which often cause damage to hagiography this insulation contributes to its resistance and aesthetics through the years (Hagia Sofia, Constantinople). Also, lead sheets provide soundproofing and radiation-proofing. They can be fixed onto every type of roof.

Our company certifies, based on a study performed by the University of California (Department of Energy), that use of lead is most proper for soundproofing and radiation proofing (with sheet width of 2mm or more).
