 AEGEK is one of the largest construction companies in Greece, with numerous activities beyond public works, such as energy projects and real estate in the private sector and foreign countries such as Romania, Jordan and Cyprus. AEGEK, having conducted extra demanding works of high quality, has dominated the construction industry for more than 50 years (founded in 1949) and has contributed to the growth of the National Economy. Nowadays AEGEK has a great number of active construction sites in Greece and abroad. During this period, the company has accomplished:

1. The specialization in infrastructure and energy projects and the participation in unique development works, such as the harbor of Astakos in Greece.
2. The expansion of the Group through acquisitions in the equity of major construction companies (METON S.A., EFKLIDIS S.A. etc).
3. The reinforcement of the group through merging procedures and the acquisition of 6th and 7th class contractor's licenses.
4. The gradual expansion of the group, through the undertaking of new energy, transport and building projects.

 
Entering a new area, the one after the Olympic Games of 2004, a new chapter in the history of AEGEK Group is about to begin. During the upcoming months, AEGEK is about to merge through the absorption of Efklidis and METON S.A., creating a new, strong and concentrated corporation with flexible management and economies of scale. The new scheme (still holding the highest level contractor's license of the Greek market -7th class) will be able to undertake various projects of any kind and is completed by specialized companies, such as:
