The Union of Agricultural Cooperatives of Ilia-Olympia is a Secondary Cooperative Organization under the provisions of the Law 2810/2000 on The Agricultural Cooperative Organizations.

The Union was founded in 1921 with aim to support the agricultural income and to intervene in product prices for the benefit of the producers, expressing thereby the cooperative idea.

The Union’s region of activity is the geographical area defined by the administrative boundaries of the prefecture of Ilia, and in particular, the municipalities of Alifeira, Andritsaina, Ancient Olympia, Volakos, Zacharo, Iardanos, Lampeia, Lasionos, Pirgos, Skillountos, Figaleia, Foloi and Oleni.

The Union comprises about 100 members - primary agricultural cooperatives, which embody more than 20.000 producers. The administration of the Union is for the first time run solely by producers.
