COMPANY PROFILE
Phosphoric Fertilizers Industry SA (PFI) was founded in 1961 by the Commercial Bank Group and started operating in 1965 at Nea Karvali in Kavala.

A historical milestone in PFI’s corporate development occurred in 2000 when the two most important fertilizer manufacturers in Greece, PFI and Chemical Industries of Northern Greece SA, merged to form Greece’s largest chemical company.

The new business was owned by two major banks.

In September 2009, PFI SA was acquired by ELFE SA, a company controlled by a private equity fund.
At present, there is a significant ongoing investment programme in the maintenance and improvement of production divisions, warehouses and packing facilities, at the Kavala plant.

Exported products are :
Fertilizers (NP / NPKs and CAN) and sulfuric acid.
The types of fertilizers manufactured at Kavala plant are produced to meet the needs of Greek agriculture. They also correspond to all types of fertilizers applied in the international market.

More specifically, the following types of high quality fertilizers are produced:
Straight (NP) fertilizers of type 16.20.0, 20.10.0, 22.11.0, 24.12.0, 20.20.0, 23.21.0 and up to 23.23.0 as well as similar types.
Compound fertilizers of type 11.15.15, 20.10.10, 15.15.15, 10.20.10 and similar types with MOP or SOP.
Calcium Ammonium Nitrate (26% N and 27% N) as well as Calcium Ammonium Nitrate 27% N + 2 -4 MgO.
Specialty (NP & NPK) fertilizers with Mg (Magnesium), Zn (Zink) B (Borium), trace elements for corn, cotton, olives, fruit trees, garden produce etc.
Granular ammonium sulfate.
Especially for international markets, the Company produces NPs & NPKs tailor made grades according to customers requested specifications.
