COMPANY PROFILE
Arma company started its operation in 1963. Mr Aristidis Maratsinos, the founder of the company and having a long-term experience in the sector of socks and tights industry, he buys his first equipment and he founds his first personal business in Athens.
Back in the 70s, Mr Aristidis Maratsinos starts a cooperation with his brother Konstaninos, who is assigned the post of the Sales Manager. During the 80s, the first co-operation and an expansion of the company occurs and the company enters in the sector of retailing, under the name "ARMA FASHION A. & K. MARATSINOS O.E.".
The company is marked by a significant growth and in 1990 it becomes an S.A. The distinctive title of the initial company is "ARMA" and it comes from the initials of the Founder’s name Mr. Aristidis Maratsinos.
The son of Aristidis Maratsinos, Stelios, takes over the post of the Sales Manager after he had graduated on Economics. While Stelios Maratsinos started his business activities as a Sales Representative, he soon climbed to the hierarchy due to his remarkable performance at work. He plays a significant role for the evolution and the progress of the company and nowadays he is the Manager and President of ARMA.
In 1988 a new company is created with the title of "VESPUCCI A. & K. MARATSINOS", which makes imports on under wares for kids, women and men. From 1990, the management of this company is undertaken by the new blood of the family, Konstantino's son, Marios, along with the sister of Aristidis Maratsinos, Depy, graduated from Deree American College.
In 1988, ARMA is awarded from the American Chamber for the quality and the service of the company, during a reception at New York’s Sheraton Hotel. In 1990, the two brothers, Aristidis and Konstantinos Maratsinos, found OMSA Company, a representative partner in Greece for the Italian Company OMSA, one of the three biggest firms in the sector of manufacturing in the world. OMSA is characterized by the innovative-original design of tights and the exceptional quality of its materials. The represantion of OMSA in Greece, is quite successful and it gives a new push in terms of sales of the firm.
In 1994, "MARATSINO GROUP" is founded (the fifth company on the row) of the family, specializing in imports of new products from abroad. This company represents very popular Italian underwear firms for men, women line, tights but also a complete line homewear (bathing robes, towels e.t.c.). Also, a line of German underwear firms and a line from other European firms (men's and women's bathing suits, underwear with a unique and sensational design). This new company of the Group, founded by Stelios and his cousin Marios Maratsinos, is quite dynamic and it introduces in Greece the mots innovative and new products that appears in the global market.
The lead of ARMA was to replace the socks to tights. In the 70's the firm introduces into the market the "No Ponti" net tight, which doesn't loose its shape. In the 80's the firm places in the market specially designed tights with silver color while in the 90's the popular "Magic Lift" model, gives a great success in the Greek Market.
The new blood of the family brings always new fresh ideas, playing a significant role in the rapid growth of the company. More members of the family enter the company such as, Klairi Maratsinou (Aristidi's doughter),and member of the Board takes charge of the management of Orders, while Anastasia Ignatiou (Stelios wife), takes charge of a special part of the company, imports and exports.
